Kitchen layouts
Kitchen is called the heart of the house, because people spend lots of their time there, preparing food, cooking and eating. There are many styles and designs of the kitchen, in different colors, patterns and shapes, suitable to our preferences, needs and, of course, size of the kitchen. But let’s start from the beginning, and check out how to plan the flow of the kitchen in the most ergonomic and useful way. In this post I’d like to show you some basic kitchen design layouts.
-
If you have long and narrow kitchen the best for it would be one wall kitchen design, with the counter at one side and a fridge, a sink and a cooker standing
in one line. It’s a bit uncomfortable for two people cooking at the same time, but sometimes it’s the only way of arrangement. -
If you have long but not so narrow kitchen with counter at both sides, the most useful plan could be the corridor layout. It’s quite functional by using the classical kitchen triangle. In this layout you can put a fridge and a sink at one side, and a cooker at the other. There are plenty of free space left for cabinets and shelves.

If you have the popular L-shape kitchen, the best way is the classic triangle, but remember it would be more useful if you put the sink between the cooker and the fridge, because, first you take out food from the refrigerator, then you wash it, then cook, it’s tried and true. This layout is quite comfortable and has got enough room even for two or three people preparing meals at the same time. This arrangement gives also a bit more
space for kitchen cabinets.
